Q.Is Thread Lifting Performed Together With Facial Liposuction?
A. Yes, thread lifting and facial liposuction are often performed together as a combined procedure. This approach enhances the improvement of facial contours by removing excess fat through liposuction while lifting and tightening the skin with thread lifting. The synergy between the two procedures provides a more defined jawline and smoother facial contours, resulting in a longer-lasting lifting effect compared to individual treatments.
Q.What Areas Are Targeted?
A. Mini Contour Lift is a procedure recommended for individuals looking to combine thread lifting and facial liposuction. It specifically targets areas such as the sagging jawline, double chin, and cheeks. This procedure is ideal for addressing moderate sagging, rather than severe signs of aging. If the sagging is more extensive, additional thread lifting or liposuction in other areas may be considered to achieve optimal results.
Q.How Long Does It Take To See The Effects Of The Lifting?
A. The effects of Mini Contour Lift are typically noticeable immediately after the procedure, with optimal results developing over the following weeks as the tissues settle and tighten. When there is a significant amount of facial fat in the treated areas, the lifted facial tissues are anchored more effectively, and the results tend to last longer. In contrast, if facial liposuction is performed alone, the skin may lose its elasticity more quickly after fat removal. Therefore, combining thread lifting and facial liposuction is often recommended to achieve the best lifting effects and contour improvement.
Q.How Many Threads Are Used During The Procedure?
A. We use Epiticon® Threads, which are patented, dissolvable threads developed by our head surgeon, Dr. Jung Young Choon. These threads are specially designed with the ideal strength, tensile strength, and anchoring capability to lift heavier tissues effectively. Typically, around 10 threads are used per side for a standard thread lift. However, for the Mini Contour Lift procedure, which focuses on specific localized areas in combination with facial liposuction, fewer threads may be used to target and enhance the desired contours more precisely.
Q.How Long Do The Results Last?
A. The results of facial liposuction are considered permanent as the removed facial fat does not return, provided the individual maintains a stable weight. However, the longevity of thread lift results can vary depending on the adhesion of the lifted facial tissues. If thread lift is performed without facial liposuction, there is a risk that the threads may detach or the cogs may dissolve before sufficient tissue adhesion occurs, leading to reduced lifting effects. The material of the threads also plays a significant role in the durability of the results. Epiticon® threads are specifically designed with a unique structure to minimize the risk of cog dissolution or breakage, ensuring their longevity and optimizing the effectiveness of the lifting results for a long-lasting effect.
Q.Will There Be Noticeable Scars?
A. The procedure is performed with minimal incisions using a cannula, so the resulting scars will be minimal. The marks left are slightly larger than needle punctures but tend to fade over time, becoming less noticeable. However, if scarring remains a concern, laser treatments or other scar management programs can be helpful.
Q.What Precautions Should Be Taken After The Surgery?
A. Prior to the surgery, the clinic will provide you with explanations, consent forms, and pre-surgery instructions. After the surgery, the clinic will provide post-surgery instructions as well as prescribed medication. Some important post-surgery instructions include abstaining from alcohol and smoking for about a month to prevent bleeding and infection. It's essential to avoid getting water on the surgical site. Additionally, refrain from chewing hard or tough foods or opening the mouth widely until fully recovered, as this can cause discomfort. After the surgery, there may be minor bleeding or hematoma formation within 1 to 3 days. Applying light pressure with clean gauze or tissue for about 3 minutes can help stop the bleeding. It's also advised to avoid positions where the head is bent forward for extended periods and to sleep with the head elevated above the heart for at least 3 to 5 days.
